چکیده

This paper examines the valuation of a generalized American-style option known as a game-style call option in an infinite time horizon setting. The specifications of this contract allow the writer to terminate the call option at any point in time for a fixed penalty amount paid directly to the holder. Valuation of a perpetual game-style put optionwas addressed byKyprianou (2004) in a Black-Scholes setting on a nondividend paying asset. Here, we undertake a similar analysis for the perpetual call option in the presence of dividends and find qualitatively different explicit representations for the value function depending on the relationship between the interest rate and dividend yield. Specifically, we find that the value function is not convex when r > d. Numerical results show the impact this phenomenon has upon the vega of the option.

Valuation of stock loans with exponential phase-type Lévy models

Stock loans are collateral loans with stocks used as the collateral. This paper is concerned with a stock loan valuation problem in which the underlying stock price is modeled as an exponential phase-type Lévy model. The valuation problem is formulated as the optimal stopping problem of a perpetual American option with a time-varying exercise price. When a transformation is applied to the perpe...

Perpetual Call Options With Non-Tradability

We explicitly solve an optimal stopping problem related to the exercise of a perpetual American call option when the option holder cannot trade the underlying asset. We prove the verification theorem for the solution proposed. We derive the moment generating function of the optimal exercise time and also the elasticity of the option value with respect to stock price. The class of admissible uti...

American Option Pricing of Future Contracts in an Effort to Investigate Trading Strategies; Evidence from North Sea Oil Exchange

In this paper, Black Scholes’s pricing model was developed to study American option on future contracts of Brent oil. The practical tests of the model show that market priced option contracts as future contracts less than what model did, which mostly represent option contracts with price rather than without price. Moreover, it suggests call option rather than put option. Using t hypothesis test...

Bounds for Perpetual American Option Prices in a Jump Diffusion Model

We provide bounds for perpetual American option prices in a jump diffusion model in terms ofAmerican option prices in the standardBlack–Scholesmodel. We also investigate the dependence of the bounds on different parameters of the model.

Options with Extreme Strikes

In this short paper, we study the asymptotics for the price of call options for very large strikes and put options for very small strikes. The stock price is assumed to follow the Black–Scholes models. We analyze European, Asian, American, Parisian and perpetual options and conclude that the tail asymptotics for these option types fall into four scenarios.
